Many artists started their career as part of a band or adding Band to their name. Lots have changed and only a few have remained the same. Jason Bolandstill has the Stragglers and Randy Rogers and Josh Abbott still have Band in their name. Casey Donahew dropped the Band from his name some years ago. Wade Bowen was one that started out with a Band, they were called West 84 that was formed while Wade was attending Texas Tech in Lubbock. In 2001, the group became known as "Wade Bowen and West 84," and he released his independent debut album, Try Not to Listen, in 2002. Over time, the "West 84" part of the name eventually "drifted away" as Wade established his solo career. One original band member, Matt Miller, still plays guitar with him.
The boys from Cross Canadian Ragweed were busy over the holidays. The guys were spread out from Oklahoma, to New York, to Texas, to Germany! As 2026 is in full swing they are shifting gears a bit. They said they are keeping their heads down and their hearts loud. Fewer shows. More intention. More creativity. The first part of the year will be spent building, writing, and dreaming up some surprises they can’t wait to share with the Ragweed family. Cody said Thank you for riding with us. Stay close. There’s more coming.
Josh Abbott is a proud alumni of Texas Tech and was proud of their football team wrapping up their season at 12-2 with a conference title and a bowl game win over Oregon.
