Keep in mind that ticket prices were $138 earlier this year and $200 at the gate. Also, only those with a Cooler Band are allowed to BYOB and only a limited amount are sold. They cost $40. Want VIP tickets to hang out backstage? Those will be $450 with the price jumping to $550 after April 30th. Tons of big names in Texas Red Dirt Music have come together to help raise money for one of their own. Elias Gonzales, better known on the road as “Chief” has worked with so many bands for over 20 years and he has been fighting Follicular Lymphatic Cancer. Sadly doctors have recently told him that there is nothing more that can be done and he is terminal. Look up pages for Randy Rogers, Wade Bowen, Kevin Fowler, Roger Creager, Aaron Watson, Eli Young Band and more for a GoFundMe Link to help this family out in such a desperate time and we send our thoughts and prayers his way as well.
The new album from The Texas Trio has arrived. Kyle Park teamed up with Jason Roberts, fiddler player from Asleep At The Wheel and John Michael Whitby for 10 tracks on their Self Titled Album. Kyle and Jason wrote several of the tracks together and the album will take you on a Cowboy Western Swing musical ride. Look up The Texas Trio online at TheTexasTrio.com
Bri Bagwell is a grown woman but her momma still keeps an eye on her. Bri got a text from her mom asking if she was getting a tattoo or a body piercing. Bri texted mom back to say No and that she was sound checking at the bar she would play at later that night. Momma told Bri to get with the folks at the bar to fix their online presence because the map mom was looking at just listed her location at a Tattoo parlor.
Jesse Raub Jr will get to play another show with his buddy Cody Johnson in Georgia June 29th. Sammy Kershaw and Easton Corbin will also be on the show. And, Jesse is releasing his latest album in a few weeks. Most of the songs have been released already to streaming. Jesse also has another album already done that was produced by Radney Foster. That album should be released in late July or early August.
Jack Ingram is a Grammy nominated singer/songwriter, won an ACM Award but he finally marked another thing off of his unexpected bucket list. Jack is recovering from knee surgery. Jack had torn some cartilage and his meniscus. He swears that it DID NOT happen playing pickleball last weekend but we know the truth.
Holly Tucker’s husband has never been to Nashville so the pair are headed up there April 26th to spend a few days, visit the Grand Ole Opry, Country Music Hall of Fame, the Bluebird Café, all the sights down Broadway and Holly will be recording 4 new songs.
Luke Berryhill came out swinging with his latest single “Road To The Show” but all of the sudden he and management are pulling the song. It seems that the song is very similar to another song. This happens. People with the same background, like baseball, write songs at different times. As to not infringe on anyone’s rights, they felt it best to drop this song at the time. Luke does play professional baseball for the Houston Astros AND you can find a new song on the streaming platforms in early May called “Cowboys Don’t Say Goodbye.”
Mark Powell didn’t just release a new video to YouTube, he went a step further. The folks at Stryk TV did a world premier of “Undomesticated Me” on April 18th. You can check out Mark’s page for all the details.
Kevin Fowler released an update video on the Party Bar Silo he is building. Kevin is a busy body and always has to have a project. Concrete was poured for a countertop and instead of just an open area for serving, Kevin took the cut out section and put it on a frame and rollers so it can be closed. Kevin used wood planks from a super old house for the inside and even found a spot for his antique Coca-Cola cooler box.
Randy Rogers is doing DJ work now. Well he guest hosted Eric Churchs’ Outsider Radio channel to tell stories, pick a few tunes and even play a few from The Chief himself.
Cody Jinks social media always entertains by showing us which socks he is wearing for the day, his Change The Game charity and more. He never really addresses mean or crazy comments but he took exception for one keyboard warrior who claimed that his beard was fake. Jinks shows the viewers that it is indeed real.
How was your Senior Year of High School? Well for Aaron Watson’s son Jake, it is going better than ours. Jake plays High School Baseball, went to Prom, Winter Formal and on the weekends or when School is out, Jake hits the road to play guitar for his Dad. Jake’s senior trips have taken him all over the US and even to the Dallas Cowboys AT&T Stadium to play for a massive crowd at The American Rodeo.
